Her Orc Blacksmiths – Zoe Ashwood

This book contains:

  • Left at the alter
  • Teenage trauma resurfacing.

Jasmine is a human whose well matched betrothed failed to show on the day of their wedding leaving her the laughingstock of her town. But at the same time, giving her an opportunity she’s craved her whole life, to find someone who loves her unconditionally. All she’s wanted her whole life is to be treated just as valuably as her parents treat her younger brother.

Torren is an older orc we’ve met earlier in the series. He’s the Clan’s original blacksmith but refuses to work on weapons of any kind which is a point of contention with Morg, the other Clan’s blacksmith. Because of Torren’s refusal to work on weapons, he works on nothing but weapons getting more and more frustrated which causes more and more conflict between the two. To the point where it’s become common knowledge that they can barely work together without arguing.

Jasmine chooses to leave her comfortable life behind at the first opportunity she’s given (the day she’s left waiting at the alter for her betrothed who never shows) and turns to the one people she thinks might give her what she craves most in life. To be wholly cherished, loved, and valued by even one single person; to the degree that her betrothed loved another woman and left her, and her parents love her brother.

Zoe writes some AMAZING romances!

But I gotta admit, her stories that involve more than 1 male love interest are the ones I think she does the best in.

Not because there’s multiple men. No, more because of the emotional development the men go through with the female love interest, and each other so the polyamorous relationship can work is so deep and moving you can’t help but love it.

And usually, with the way Zoe writes, when the sex scenes happen, there’s involvement between the two guys that show their unique personalities as well as the growth they’ve made in their relationship with each other.

The interesting thing about this one is that between Jasmine’s desire to be loved and cherished, and the men’s long-term hesitancy, reluctance and inability to work with each other; the relationship between the three in the bathroom is quite different to previous poly relationships Zoe has written. And not in a bad way at all!

In the end, we find the three falling into an amazing relationship that embraces and demonstrates everything that should be in any relationship.
