We met Aiden in last week’s review, Off-Limits Fling with the Heiress, but just to recap a little. He’s a workaholic dedicated to the business his father left him after passing away some years earlier. Since his father’s death, he’s not exactly known for showing his emotional side, or really giving them any space to happen. Especially when it comes to romance.
Elena has come out of a serious relationship that ended because she can’t stop loving her best friend Aiden. She knows she’s loved him for a long time and will always do anything she can to help and support him. But she’s also not sure she’ll ever get over him while he’s in her life, and she really does want to move on.
With Aiden’s mom seriously ill, he’s desperate to do anything he can to make her remaining time as happy as he can. While money’s not an object, it can’t help him give his mom the one thing she seriously wants.

I enjoyed this fairly sweet (there are a few spicy moments) romance over the span of just a few days and wish I could have read it in a single day curled up in bed. Unfortunately, work kept me from being able to do that. But if you’re experiencing a cold snap and want a book to curl up in bed with, with a lovely Christmas vibe.
This is amazing!
Yes, grief continues to feature heavily meaning it’s not entirely light-hearted. But it’s balanced so perfectly that you can feel and acknowledge the grief, but don’t get lost in it as Aiden and Elena try to carry out the impossible.
In the end, love wins out as it’s meant to. But it was more of a challenge than I thought it’d be given Elena’s feelings and the wedding happening. But then, I shouldn’t have doubted Rachael’s ability to really draw it out and make it drama filled.
