Nico is the youngest owner of a hockey team, he’s confident, he’s in charge and he get’s what he wants. When he decides he wants something, he’s all in. Yet he’s extremely loyal to his loved ones.
Becca is co-owner of an agency firm for sports players with her brothers and she focuses on the hockey players. She’s a ball breaker who takes no enemy’s and gets what’s best for her and her clients.
Nico and Becca have worked together for years, yet something changes between them and it’s explosive. They’re finding every opportunity they can to explore what they have, yet they aren’t even sure what it is.
Right when things seem to be going well, everything changes because of one leaked bit of information. From there all hell breaks loose between them.
I’m finding I’m enjoying these sporting type romances quite a bit. I know they aren’t around a sport I follow or know anything about, but I follow my own sport so have a sense of what these hockey romances are about. Although I do have a secret wish someone could do an AFL version coz I do love my home sport.
Unlike some of the other hockey romances I’ve been reading recently, this one didn’t focus on a player, instead, it focused on a team owner and an agent. It was quite a change, yet I don’t think it really detracted from the overall story.
In terms of their relationship, the frankness that Becca displayed when discussing and demanding what she felt she deserved in any type of relationship was great. Especially when Nico respected it and wanted it more. And of course, the fact that the heat in their relationship wasn’t glossed over or skipped, it was all kept in to really embrace their explosive relationship.
